Cryptographers Unlock Code of 'Thiefproof' Car Key

Why would this bother anyone? Really good hackers can crack any security system. The goal of security should not be perfection, but an extremely time-consuming and difficult process, such that that effort does not equal the outcome.

In this case, hotwiring a Prius after months of preparation seems like overkill. What real thief would do that?
